If you are a professional photographer or just a weekend shutterbug, a great way to enjoy taking pictures is to incorporate a photography competition. You do not have to be a professional photographer to incorporate these skills and in fact there are many times where the picture of a truss will beat out the pictures of many seasoned veterans.
Winning a competition of photography is more about how you take the pictures themselves rather than what you take pictures. Here are some tips that will help direct you to a win or two in the picture:
The? unique: Judges of the powers of photography are always looking for unique shots. Of course you will want to follow the guidelines of the competition, but competition is a shot that allows anything to be entered, then use your imagination. If specific, such as a baby photo competition, think again out of the box with the pictures you take.
Click the? far: No matter what you decide to take a box to enter the competition to be sure that you take many shots of the item. This will allow you to pass later through every shot and really giving some thought as to which you will enter in the competition of photography.
The? do your homework: If the competition is one that is held on an annual basis then take a look at what took some pictures of the past winners. Where these action shots? They were perhaps abstract. Whatever the case may be you can get a leg up on the competition by doing a little preparation ahead of time.
The? considered categories: Most photography skills will have a number of different categories. While you should certainly come in the categories you are most interested you can also look at the categories and try to establish which have the least amount of entries. While they may not be the most exciting categories, you will increase your chances of winning if there is very little entered in a category.
The? follows the rules: Approve this sounds like a no brainer but you'd be amazed at the number of contenders in the photograph are not simply the rules of competition. This typically leads to immediate elimination no matter how good the picture may be. You can be an immediate step ahead of many if you read the rules and follow them to the letter.
The? have fun: If you find that you are stressed out while taking pictures to enter the competition, then you need to stop and reassess. The powers are supposed to be fun and if you are not having fun and rejoicing then chances are you are putting too much thought into your shots and you will not take very good pictures. Stick with what you know and have fun with it.
While you certainly will not win every competition you enter the picture, if you keep at it you are sure to win their fair share. More importantly you may be able to make some friends along the way and you certainly will enhance the joy of his hobby of picture taking.
